More chicks

We let one of the hens hatch out her eggs and we got 2! That's what we got from the incubator! I'm so excited. My new shrubs are doing real well with all the rain. I went thrifting and got a cool new pillow with a tea pot. I'll post pictures when I can get the camera back from hubby!!

Adrianna with her Mom

This is a picture of my granddaughter with my son's girlfriend (her mother) Donna. I hate not being closer to them.

The Storm

We are all good here. I had some small branches down but that was it. The roses lost a bunch of petals and the trees leaves but we never even lost our power! Praise God!

I painted my kitchen!

Well...my sons actually painted more than I did. It came out great and will be posting pictures later this evening. I am thrilled with the outcome and am very proud of my boys. I suppose when the going gets tough, the tough paint!!! I painted some things silver to get them to match the new color. The ceiling and cabinets are to follow. I am going to pick out new flooring some time soon.

I went thrifting!!!

I got a bunch of stuff at Salvation Army today. I bought 6 cut glass water glasses and on depression era reproduction goblet, and old fashioned wood stove iron, an Evan Picone purse, sneakers for one of my boys, a great pair of Sunday dress shoes, and a Martha Stewart book. All that for less than $20!! I got OPPS paint a Walmart for the kitchen and livingroom. I will be painting in the morning, God willing.

Update on the test

I did pass my teacher test for Florida, but I'm not getting anywhere with it yet. I suppose God's timing is perfect. I know He will give me a job when it's time. I am thrilled that I passed it.

Trying to get back to it!

I am trying to get back into the swing of things again. Since I've been homeschooling things have gotten all out of wack. I let my 11 year old take care of the animals lately and discovered rats have been stealing eggs. My 13 year old has been doing wash to help out and my husband's white t-shirts and socks are a lovly shade of a blue gray mix. It's just so easy to have the children do it, but the effects can be, well interesting!!!

We had babies

Big Momma gave birth to at least 10 babies. We lost only one through the night. Momma Z is nesting and ready to give birth any minute! The entire family is so excited! Pictures will be added when I can get the camera away from my husband! We lost all our babies! I don't know why our mommas aren't taking care of them. I am going to get new mommas

Spring is SO here

I love these kind of days when the wash can be hung out and the windows opened with the curtains floating in the breeze! The irisis' are in bloom and the shrubs are getting their leaves too. I love to watch the pear and peach trees bloom. When a good breeze comes it looks like snow! I am starting to get the cleaning bug. I will probably repaint this spring too. It's been 3 years since I've painted the kitchen and livingroom. I am ready to hit Croom's Nursery in the next week or so to get my flower beds going. I planted new shrubs in the front and along the side of the property. I love the purple color.

Habitat for Humanity

Today is Friday, and at this time of the year we have students visiting from all over the country to help build homes. this year we have had three groups, and the last one will be here Sunday night. These kids are fantastic! They work all year at their colleges to raise money to come here and help our community. Various churches and citizens house and feed them. This group is number two.

What a nice day

Today was so nice! I hung out 2 loads of wash. The breeze was strong and cool, perfect for wash day. I hit a great yard sale and got a bunch of clothes for spring. My children and I went to the park for homeschool park day and it was so nice to visit with my friends. I love the park here in Lucedale. I had lunch with my husband and his latest group of Habbitat for Humanity kids. All the kids who sign up are so nice. They have Habbitat groups at their colleges inorder to plan a trip to build a house. The Republican Party meeting was good this evening. Steve Palazzo spoke. I am a Joe supporter, but Steve is a nice guy too.

The Test

I took the teacher test today in Pensacola Florida. It was a long drive for a test that was only 1 1/2 hours long. I hope I passed. Won't find out until the end of the month. Of course no matter where I go I have to shop! I found some great things at the Party City store. I love paper napkins!

My new blog!

I am trying to figure this all out. I have seen so many great blogs to inspire me that I figured I would give it a try. I hope to post pictures of my family and friends, along with projects, and events to share with everyone.
